Volunteers Needed: Calne Music & Arts Festival October 2024 (Year 10 - 13, apply ASAP)

Calling all ALT (Ascend Learning Trust) students... Here is an incredible opportunity to support the Calne Music & Arts Festival, whilst developing your skills, meeting new friends and gaining the all important work experience!

Volunteering opportunities are during 4th -13th October 2024 and the Family Day, on which we shall need a lot of help is Saturday 5th October.

The roles on offer at the Calne Music & Arts week are:

  • front of house, tickets and giving out programmes

  • stage hand, helping set up and take down after events

  • help with refreshments during the interval

  • social media (writing and posting reviews and previews, photography

  • stewarding the Art Exhibition

  • supporting the Family Day (5th October, the first Saturday of the festival), assisting with art/craft activities for children

The volunteers will also get free entry to concerts and will have the opportunity to meet some of the artists appearing at the festival.

This is a fantastic opportunity to gain experience of work, build your confidence with speaking to new people, learn about different careers, develop your skills and gain volunteering hours for programmes such as Duke Of Edinburgh Award.

When will I be needed?

You will be timetabled according to when you are free. You will not be expected to be available for the whole 10 days of the festival.

However, on the first Saturday - the Family Day Saturday 5th October- it would be great to have as much help as possible.

How do I apply?

Apply to art@cmaf.org.uk by writing an email to explain what volunteer role you are most interested in.

Apply ASAP so the CMAF team have time to arrange the schedules.

Volunteers are presented with a certificate in recognition of their work for the Festival. This can count towards DoE (Service) or Work Experience.

All volunteer roles will come with a lot of support. If you wish to discuss these volunteer opportunities in more detail either contact John Boaler on art@cmaf.org.uk
