Opportunity: Duke of Edinburgh Volunteer - Avebury Manor
Where: Avebury, Nr. Marlborough, Wiltshire, SN8 1RF
Role summary:
Young people age 16+ are able to volunteer unaccompanied should they wish.
If you're age 15 or under, it would still be great to hear from you and are very happy to discuss how we can support your volunteering experience with us!
What's involved?
Learning more about Avebury and its stories, so that you can bring it to life for our visitors.
Helping with making sure things run as smoothly and safely as possible – this includes getting to know health and safety and evacuation procedures.
There might occasionally be some other activities that are of interest to you, that we could use your help with.
Learning and championing the National Trust’s core aims of conserving nature, beauty and history for everyone, for ever.
Being a friendly face and ambassador for the National Trust.
Being part of a team that may need to adapt and change in response to local needs and National Trust priorities.
We want all our volunteers to feel welcome and to have an equally positive experience when volunteering with us. So, volunteers will:
Be provided with the necessary induction, training, equipment and reasonable adjustments to do this role well and safely
Be offered expenses to cover agreed travel costs between home and place of volunteering.
Have remote access to support, news and rotas via our volunteer website
This role will suit you if you are:
Someone who enjoys working with people.
Interested in getting involved in all types of tasks.
Interested in history/heritage
Friendly and ready to answer questions - you never know what you’ll be asked!
Keen to discover more about Avebury and its history.
