Family and Community Learning offer interactive courses structured to be supportive and empowering, while their course material provides accessible, practical information.

All their courses are free for eligible learners.

Working in Schools - starts Friday 9 January 10am – 12pm, five weekly sessions, 9 January – 6 February

This five session course, written and run by a former SENCO, gives learners a real taste of what it is like to work in a school and provides useful tools to make a strong job application in this area. This is ideal for parents who are looking to go into work or to change career, now that their little ones are in school. We also offer to support learners with arranging a work experience day as a first step to working in this area.

Customer Service - starts Tuesday 13 January 10am – 12pm, four sessions Tuesdays and Fridays, 13 January – 23 January

This four session course outlines the huge breadth and range that customer service encompasses and supports learners to develop their professional communication skills. This would also be useful for parents looking to get back into work or to change career.

Balance Your Budget - Tuesday 6 January 10am – 12pm

This single session course supports participants to feel more in control of their money.

Budgeting For Work - Friday 9 January 10am – 12pm

This course is designed to ease the transition into work by helping participants make sense of taxes, pay slips, and how benefits may continue.

To book a place, new learners need to complete an application form, either on the phone with us or online here: Enrolment - Work Wiltshire.

FACL will follow up applications with a phone call to check the suitability of the course. Learners also need to attend an online welcome meeting before their first course. Booking closes one week before the start of the course.
